So it's been a while since I was last here.
Since then I've been working diligently to get a better end result.
These are effectively 3 models but with different shaders and textures set up to get some interesting results.
I'll start off with the blank models to show that off without any special effects.
Special weapons Dalek [19,599 tris]:
Now this was a awkward one to so for the top half, there has only ever been one shown on TV and it was only for about 10 seconds but it has one of the most radical designs of any Dalek.
Drone[19,765 tris]:
Your stereo typical Dalek from the New series from series 1-5.
Supreme Dalek [20,535 tris]:
This Dalek was from the finale for doctor who back in 2008 and I've found some interesting things you can do to the colour scheme.
Here's the part I start showing the end result.
I've taken alot of time trying to get my materials just "right" and I've come to a bit of a happy medium.
I especially love the result I've got from my Supreme Dalek.

You should be really cuffed with the result. I would prefer versing them instead of the new ceph design in crysis 2
Good job.
I've been keeping up to date on the stuff about this years series and apparently every Dalek that's ever been aired is being shown including the SWD.
I'm hoping i can make these into an enemy or in the very least make an animation with them.

The only bit I don't like is the Daleks base. It looks a bit too sharp and angular (and maybe low poly?). Perhaps adding some rivets to it would break it up, and softer bevels on the high poly so the angles dont seem too sharp.
And do what modern said, add some scratches, dirt and stuff to the textures, sublte stuuf.
at the moment I'm looking at adding details like dust and small scratches but I think at the moment this is doing pretty well.
And of course the obligatory:
