Based on a concept by
Jaime Martinez, this image shows the heart of the scene at the end of the movie. I decided to bring his concept to life because of the potential I found on it. A good place to implement cool rendering features and a peaceful place to work on.

I have learned a lot while developing this project. I have spent lots of time reading the real time rendering book in my daily travel to the office. Many other resources have helped me so much, as you can see at the end credits.

Great job!
I do have to agree with the others above though, the post processing effects seem a bit unneeded or not properly implemented
Also that lense effect seem to be the new staple of current gen. I think it takes away to much focus from the scene.
Thanks. Oh, I forgot to link this:

Would you consider releasing the project as an example for us to tear apart in UDK?

Otherwise... WOw!

Thanks for the comments!
Did you do dynamic wet surfaces through object position? But your stream changes height so I might be off here. Really curios how you did that one.
Also was water stream simulation done through a flow map, vertex painted flow map, specifically tailored UVs or is there something else?
P.s. That frog was a great touch:)
Either way, the whole scene looks phenomenal! The only downside for me is the water. It looks kinda like it's some gel like liquid. It just seems 'thicker' than water should be.
Sorry the late reply. I dont know why I dont get email notifications.
Well, yes, I used the world position to make the wet zone. And as you said, the river surface is not flat, so there are different heights. I solved it without any magic trick, just different material instances depending its position in the map. So I organized the instances by water height. Nothing special
About the flow. Yeah, the well know technique of flow map. I also had to carefully set the UVs to change the water speed where I wanted to make it slower or faster.
And for the rest of the people, Im really sorry for the extreme postprocess and not well finished water surface. My mistake was to avoid showing it before the final publication. I showed it at the office but nobody said anything about it
I was too used to see the water and the chromatic aberration, so I could not notice the mistakes. Damn!
Instancing it by height still was pretty damn smart Threw me off for good.
Loved the way Deadlight looked too, btw. Great job all around, David! ;D keep rocking
HAHAHA, I can't stop laughing Well, you may already know, the simple solution WINWS ^^
Thanks! Many thanks
