Lighting in Max

Hello, Im making a room and am trying to do the lighting so I get a nice render. No matter what I try it's just not looking good so I obviously suck at it lol and need help. May I have some tips or tutorials on lighting to help me please.

You should post what you have atm! maybe in the P&P section. Show us what you've got, what you're using (max but, vray? mental ray?) and some examples of what you're going for. I don't think anyone based on this one post can tell you right away exactly what to do.
