Hi guys, I've just finished this model inspired by a miniature made for the tabletop game Confrontation.
Some minor modeling, retopoing and UV unwrapping apart, made in Maya and 3D-Coat, the most of this model is made in Zbrush: the first two renders also are single pass Zbrush renders, with just a bit of contrast correction in Photoshop.
For this project I tried to achieve the best render of a complete character I could make in Zbrush, to get a better knowledge of its shading and rendering system and to see if it could be used as an alternative to standard rendering packages.
The last three images are rendered in Zbrush and composited in After Effects like they were still frames took from a CG cinematic, I hade some compositing fun putting a lot of lens blur
Thanks for watching!

Dado Almeida, I should agree with you about the main render... it turned out pretty weak, while the VFX shots are a lot more powerful!
This is rendered in Zbrush, so unfortunately no animation at all...
RiotForQuiet, I worked a lot on that red drunken style nose! I was inspired by classic troll illustrations an Paul Bonner works!
Only crit from me would be the colors. Somehow they seem off. Id would try adding a small overlay layer with a blue or warm yellow on all the armor textures with a 20% oppacity just to pull them a bit together.
EDIT: TBH, I only have a problem with the more raw shots - It looks amazing in the renderes shots so I say ignore what I wrote.
