awsome work, i love the overall shape except for the feets, the rest of the body give the impression of an agile robot, but the feets kinda destroy this impression.
Aye, I agree with underfox, this guy looks nible and fast, then you look at his feet and I can imagine his walk cycle as looking like a 6year old girl wearing her mums high heels. Make smaller feet!
Thank you guys..
a few words about his feet: I think they fit well into the overall design, and with small feet it will be less stable... well, in general, I like how they look))
So for you hp did you sculpt in mudbox or sub-d in maya?
Solid work across the board-great stuff (but you know that:))
Only thing-with the final render with color-is the red supposed to be paint? Also, normalizing the paint layer so it bumps over the top of the metal would really help sell that it is paint (if it's not paint-sorry), unless you just overlayed several maps that you created in zbrush? I just feel you could take that piece of this fantastic work a bit further.
Personally i love the way the feet break up his silhouette a bit, he doesn't have toes so maybe big heavy feet keep him upright? Wonderful modelling and nice clean bakes too, textures - go!
RavannaYou scare me, it's just my first WIP on polycount Alex PointerYes, red is red paint (but in this case just painted in PS without additional screengrabs). I still thinking about color theme..

Tbh i can see him running/walking like those athletes who use the carbon fibre prosthetic feet.
But either way, i love them, and it's looking really sweet.
Really great work, very clean! On a side note, would it be difficult to get the same level of sharpness in a ZBrush sculpt rather than modeling in a 3D app? I always think speed is important but the quality has to be good too. Keep up the great work

Yeah probably depends on what the individual artists abilities are like with their respective app. I would personally be quicker doing a hard surface model like this is Max rather than sculpting. Plus I would have more control.
Really awesome work, very clean lines... Can I ask what your modelling process in Maya is, once you import the mesh from Mudbox? Are you using box/Sub-D modelling or are you using splines?
Are you using box/Sub-D modelling or are you using splines?
well, in the first stage i use topogun, I use it to create single "one piece geometry" with edge flow that i need.. then in maya i separate mesh, extrude, split, create control edges and so on... in general, it can be called sub-d modeling but I'm not sure
Is there any remeshing or dynamesh like feature in mudbox?
no, and it is very sad.. working only with imported mesh..
This is an incredible render from UDK-NICE. I also like the top two; I think non-conventional color schemes are always good. If I had to pick between the two I would have to go with the orange one. I think the gloss could be pushed some more-sorry if you haven't created that...good, good, stuff.
I know what is gloss map, I just did not understand semantics..;) i will use it, i think, and texture is not finished yet, i don't have spec map at all.. sponge bob will be in final version, I promise you
Fantastic. Really well designed model. I would have liked to see the crevices between metals darker though! They would probably collect a fair bit of dirt.
Wow Amazing work I can't even describe.
Idea time!
so I found this dude on deviantart a couple of years back. http://danluvisiart.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=120#/d1aywh7
What this guy does really reminds me of your character. http://danluvisiart.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2u7hc6
and I really like this guy's work because the way I see it is the pop culture refferences give the characters powers. Anyways this guy has always inspired me, I hope he inspires you too. ^^; and maybe you will add a bastion plushy or something ridiculous.

All maps are baked
other than this, really great work.
Hothothothot is what I say to that robot. Awesome work!

ok in fact maybe the feet are a bit heavy, but maybe its high gravity or something? The technical ability shown is impressive, anyway.

Great work by the way. Loving the design!

I can't wait to see this bad boy in UDK fully
Also, reflections on those surfaces would take it further. Try adjusting a cube map along with a gloss map to get an awesome metal.
Also I think it needs some highly saturated small details. I say this because there doesn't really seem to be a focal point. I miss the sponge bob :P
Thanks for watching..
It looks awesome - I'm glad Spongebob made his way back
I'm also glad to seen the Spongebob Decal making a return. As for the design. Outstanding. Great style and design choices from the face to the feet.
I hope you are going to pose him.
I forgot texture.
