Hey all, I just joined Polycount and I had a question with 3DS Max.
When I import a texture, it always shows up much brighter than when it's viewed outside the program.
Here's an example from when I was modelling a Graphics Card

I'm using it to set up a reference plane and it's really making it annoying to work with. Also, when I import textures to be used on the model itself, they're the same way.
How can I fix this?

Where exactly is it?
Gamma has its own tab under options on my 2011.
There's also this in the properties for your bitmap. Not likely to be this but it could be used to produce the same result, so...
But you should also make sure that your Global Ambient Light is set to black, or near black.
(Press 8 and check the "Ambient" color)

Also make sure your texture diffuse map is on 100 and not lower, it will blend with your diffuse color otherwise.
