in this thread i will post all my work that i will create in future. So instead of creating one thread for one project everything created from my hands will be here.
Start. Just small practicing of painting of a shoe.
Nice, my only criticisms are that the the front of the sole looks quite sharp, compared to the actual shoe, which is quite rounded, and the back of the sole lacks a bit of definition. That said, took me a while to see those, and from a glance it looks awesome!
Thanks for your crit Tom. I will give it a try and define the form of sole a bit more.
Few days ago i desided to do environment. I have not been working on any for some time and previous tries are now outdated. Main reason for creating that is to further improve with texturing. Here is the lowpoly version which has 2570 tris.
Greetings,
few days ago i decided to do a car for my portfolio. Many things that i am showing there are outdated and it just screaming for new stuff.
Maserati Gran Cabrio. There will be exterior model with lower detailed interior and then highres interior. Exterior with ld interior i am thinking to make it around 80k tris and interior hd 40k. For exterior i will try to use shaders as much as possible and create textures for wheels, parts that will need alpha, then texture for details and one texture for interior. Interior hd mostly with small tilable textures and one for details.
Thanks. That splines what you see are representing guide lines. So once they are describing basic lines of the car i trace polygons over them. Comparing to blueprints they give you nicer shapes and you can snap vertices on them directely.
Loving all your work, especially the dog painting that is just beautiful. There is something off a little with the girls face, i think its the lack of definition around her cheeks area that is throwing it off and the chin, but im not a character person so im not good at picking it.
Love this Revelli. The Maserati is looking really good! I'm just about to start out doing a car and wondered if you can recommend the best way to start? I was going to be using splines too. Any do's and dont's? Any good tutorials/lessons you could point me to? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the comments.
With midpoly cars like this one i would say that using sub-d meshes as a base is quite easy. Just imagine you would have to use poly by poly modeling, traditionaly where you create new polygon, then you divide it to many more and move them around. Would be insane to do 30+k polygons smoothly.
Good way to start is to follow this tutorial http://www.onnovanbraam.com/index.php?tutorials/polygon_modeling_7_car_body/
Once you have the basic principles in hand, then try to study wireframes of some excelent cars. Go to http://www.smcars.net/forums/forum.php and here too http://www.cg-cars.com/forum.php
I have used splines just to have main lines very smoothly, so while i was modelling i got nice shapes.
Yooo Chris, all good here, a bit boring. Congrats you did not freeze at Igloo fest.

Progress: just basic spline work
just posting some renders of my GranCabrio. I have been working on it again a bit. 32413 tris
Maserati is on hold. I am kind of tired of cars, so i was practicing a bit of painting. Here is what i have been working on lately. What do you think?
And i made new painting recently.
and sexy car, should do one of those fancy shiny renders all the cool kids do man (also hope you're doing well back home )
