2012 self-improvement thread

Hey everyone,
It's been a fair bit of time since I posted on here, but I decided that it would be a good idea with my most recent WIP as I've kind of hit a brick wall with the texture and certain design elements and any C&C are more than welcome.
I'm also hoping on turning this thread into, as the title says, a self improvement thread, and over the year I'm gonna attempt to better my in general, thanks in advance for any advice or critiques, all comments are welcome.
