Hello, everyone!I am new here, and want to ask for some advice about render time.
Can anyone tell me how much time will it take to render a fully detailed 3D cartoon film?
We have hi gfx and about 1h 45m with a core i7 2nd generation processor.
Your answers will be very appreciate. Thanks a lot!

I know not too helpfull >.<
The animation studios use several to render out a 3d film. They run 24 hours a day and generally are located in different parts of the world.
That's why a Surf's Up penguin can have 300,000 feathers....and still be created (with post production time) in a reasonable amount of time, ( a year and a half).
Best goal you could shoot for with a difficulty level half as complicated, is a short about 4 minutes long.
seriously, is there a real person behind this or is it another one of those intelligent bots? I mean if you have already gone so far as to having all the assets for an over 1 hour(!!!!) long movie, wouldn't you by then know what it takes to render it all???
105 (minutes) X 60 (seconds) X 24 (frames/second) = 151200 frames
* 1 (really optimistic minute per frame) * 6 (layers per frame, also really optimistic) = 907200 minutes of rendering
/ 60 (minutes to hours) / 24 (hours to days) =
630 days of rendering time (on one PC) if you can get your renders down to 1 minute per layer and 6 layers per frame.
Or, a long time.

I've seen rendered out shorts that were optimized to 5 minutes per frame, and did a lot of smoke and blur effects in post to speed up the render times. Some examples are in here

So if you rendered mine for a 1hr 45m film on my very heavily overclocked i7 it would take roughly 1575 days.
That's also only at 720p.
Proceed.
Depends on many variables, mind supplying more information?
Wow, the amount of information there is outstanding.
Yeah, about that, unless RT, graphic cards do squat.
What does that mean? 1.45h with what? What scene? What are you rendering?
Yeah, I don't think they will be.
Secondly,I must say thank you for all of your answers.
Indeed,I just want to cut down my render time. And yesterday,a friend of mine suggested that I can choose an online render farm, but there are a few services in this field. So,is there someone used online render farm before, which one do you think is the most reasonable, both in price and efficiency?
Thanks again.

The more the power of the core processing, the faster the rendering will be.:poly124:
