Screen Capture Issue

I hope this is the right topic for this - But I want to start doing speed paintings and all that on YouTube but I the only screen capture thing I am using is cam-studio. I haven't don't much with it because it seems to lag a lot. Any better software that doesn't really lag as much as cam-studio? And how would I go about adding commentary and speeding up the video so its not as boring? Any help is great.

Regarding CamStudio, you can go into the video options and change the capture frame rate. It should speed up the resulting video, and may even help with performance as it isn't constantly capturing.

I think youtube has an option to replace the audio track if you wanted to add commentary.

I recommend Bandicam, you can record both from desktop and from games (like FRAPS).
