Material/Shadow issue

EDIT: I fixed my issue, I used Amb occlusion to achieve desired effect.

What program are you using, and what is the reason you want something 100% white but with shadows cast onto it?

sorry - forgot to mention haha, im using maya 2011 and the reason i woiuld like it that way is because a client would like it that way :P

i have done something before that i know would work but its bin so long i just dont rememberhow. i had made a vehicle and i set up maya in a way that the plane it was sitting on was showing the image behind it - it was a street view and the plane was only there to pick up shadows to match the lighting in the image.. i know that would work if i used a white image to show behind... just dont know how
