At yesterdays polycount meetup, we discussed using the Eurogamer Expo in september as our next meetup. hopefully it'll make it more manageable for us too, planning a meal for 20+ at a restaurant is a bit of a headache.
it'll be a fantastic opportunity for us all to get together, play a bunch of games, invade the over 18's section and have a good old drink! not to mention, networking with as many devs as are attending
tickets are on sale here:

they're only £10 for the day, so really affordable, and hopefully we can get as many people going as possible.
yeah bitches! penis tanks!

it just makes it easier to arrange, as well as having something for everyone to do during the day (walking around london all day gets a bit tiresome).
Luckily it's still 5 months to go.
tickets are still available for the expo on saturday 29th september (the preferred date for the meetup), here: http://www.eurogamer.net/expo/tickets
they're dirt cheap, it's an awesome fun day out, there's an 18+ area for beer and stuff, and we can all just have a good hang out without having to worry about booking up a restaurant or whatever. and more importantly, this is the place where we can network and hand out portfolios and CV's... let's make it a good one!
edit: should I get the day ticket?
Will keep you posted.
TheDarkKnight - last meetup we had i was offering my house out to people to stay with us. and i'd love to do the same this time, but we're moving into a new house at the end of august, and our baby is due in a couple of weeks... so unfortunately i can't help this time. really sorry!
weekend hotel prices shouldn't be too bad. believe it or not, it's weekdays that tend to be more expensive.

(save me some swag, booth people)
Book it anywhere in London; everything is reachable thanks to the Tube.
DIY dinner and meet at a pub?
I won't be there yet again this time.
Johnny: if we can transfer tickets i can send you mine?
"Normal tickets are fully transferable so feel free to pass your tickets on to a friend. Please note, press and industry tickets are not transferable."
