Finally got around to updating my portfolio. My bakery ended up going bust (short version, it was a success from the outside, but was requiring too much work from me, and my health was deteriorating because of it). So it's back to 3D. These are various personal and professional projects from the past 3 years. Doing some new stuff as well, and some art test, looking for work if any of you have any leads, and I have an experienced gameplay programmer husband looking to tag along. Twofer-one. :-)
Toy sculpts for McFarlane's line of Halo toys. All of these are water-tight, no floaties allowed. In fact on the Scorpion tank, which was my first model for them, I wasn't 100% clear on whether intersecting was ok, so the entire turret is one contiguous mesh, hah!
These were for the feature film I worked on here in Iceland. It won't get a US release, but almost every other country on earth will get it. It's already out in South Korea, and I think it opened in Germany and the Benelux area over easter. It's actually pretty good, trailer here:
www.legendsofvalhalla.com I did a few models, tons of lighting, and some compositing as well.
iPad work, the environments use a lightbake on a 2nd UV channel so they run in real time with this lighting. You can download Infernus verse 1 for free, but 2, which this shot is from, costs 2 or 3 dollars. Everything had to be done by me, concepts, 3d, textures, etc. I was the only person on the project other than a programmer and producer.
DS work from a longass time ago. I can't even tell if the in game model is mine anymore, as the screenshots show some differences, but it was definitely done for this project.
From a small platformer that Agust and I are going to finish one of these days.
Zombie link from a competition. I didn't finish it in time for the comp though.
Several more views, concepts, wireframes, etc on my webpage:

Good luck with the job hunt. Polycount is glad to have you back.
Sad to hear about the bakery, i hope everything works out!
Out of curiosity, what did you use to render the first couple shots of the vehicles, and what shader/material is that?
Sad to hear your baking business didn't work out. Godspeed on the job hunt.
P.S.
I have a potential lead for ya so pm me if you're interested.
Halo renders look ace! Even though its sad to hear about your bakery, its always nice to see you back on PC
sad to hear your bakery didn't go as planned and i hope your health is in better shape now
sucks the bakery didn't work out
out of curiosity, what made you want to leave 3d and start a bakery? (made to many normal maps? ; ] )
But, oh well, Game art has all the baking one needs!
You've got a megaton of awesome work on your site. I'm sure you'll have no problem landing something.
Shame on the bakery thing. Luckily you can keep on baking, just switch to normals.:poly136:
Welcome back
Awesome highpolys man! cool stuffs indeed. I like the undead link. You should post more often /when time allows
Really hard to say as all of them were created around a full time job, so it was one hour here, one hour there. If I had to guess, I'd say around 60 hours for the first 2, and more like 80 for the olifant.
I wanted to stay here in Iceland and there were no jobs for me after the film finished and 8 of us got laid off. I also don't necessarily think 3d production is going to be a very good job by the time I'm 45-55, and wanted something I owned, locally, that I could rely on for income.
Thanks for all the compliments guys and gals, I appreciate the input. Makes me glad I finally put it all together. :-)
what film were you working on?
Relevant info. :-)
Awesome, awesome high poly modeling on the halo models.
It's been over 4 years since I last worked there. Mostly it was because my husband and I wanted a change of scenery and he found a job in Germany. But it was also partially because I missed directly making 3d, and there I was just organizing pipeline stuff and documentation for their character customization.
