Didn't want to take up to much space in WAYWO thread, and seeing as the likeness on my latest sculpt was guessed, figured I'd post it here along with my reference

he doesn't have that crease from the nose to the mouth, that crease stars much lower

I say you're not really using the best reference as you could. The details get lost because of how washed out/pixelated the frames are. It is also not the best lighting. I advice you to use Google and find some recent close-up shots of slim shady.

yea have better resolution images for the details and stuff, used these to get the general form and shape in place, seeing as he's changed a bit over the years, and the video I took these from wasn't released to long ago, so helps me get his current look better

crit wise i think the puffiness on either side of his bottom lip needs to be made a little more subtle. It looks good but i dont think its there yet, i saw it in the WAYWO thread and thought it might be Eminem but wasn't sold on it like i am on other peoples guess who this is sculpts but you are deff getting there : ) keep it up

Edit: head might need to be made more round? looks a bit taller then the refs

Yea it's not there yet, but I can't seem to figure out what's off, I toned down the puffiness beneath his lips.

Looking at your profile shot, it looks like he has deep set eyes when in reality he doesn't. Also, his nasolabial fold is barely visible as seen in this ref:



I would also make his nose a bit more pointy.

Thanks for the feedback really appreciaet it, made he nasolabial fold less visible, but about his eyes, I think it also depends on the ref, for example in this one : http://i.imgur.com/UAmT1.jpg it looks abit deeper

That picture of him is not straight on profile view. It is in slight perspective (3/4 view). If you zoom in, you can actually see a sliver of his upper eyelid sticking out on the other side (right at the break where nasal bone meets the brow ridge). Just be careful when choosing your reference. With that said, I would still push the eyes a bit more forward.

Cheeks seem a little more sunken in the sculpt than ref.

His nose slightly curves upward in the ref

Upper lip seems less prominent in the sculpt too (looking at it from the side).

Take these suggestions with a grain of salt though. Just my first reaction.

Will finally have some time to continue working on this this weekend, so hope to make some good progress.

Here's a turnaround of the sculpt so far, have been staring at it far to long, was hoping some of you might look at it with some fresh eyes :

Taking a break from the face, started doing some work on the body.



Just roughing the anatomy in at the moment, and need to retopo the body and the face, seperate objects right now.

Started doing his clothing, at the moment just blocking most of it in with some quick color to get a feel for the entire thing

Now with added pants and shoes, so everything is in place, just need to add some details and refine some stuff and I can start building the low-poly.

Want to get this finished before May 5th when I leave to US for a 3 week holiday

Quick question, hope someone can help me out :

Low-poly done now working on textures, having some problems with the hair, fibermesh bake turned out like crap, hope someone here can help me??

Here's a cirt for your eminem character; the trousers have a much too smooth silhouette, making his legs look a bit like tubes, wheras jeans are made of a pretty angular material which gives ita pretty jagged silhouette, if you check out the outline of these:



batmans looking well, though proportionally, i'd say his heads too small and his arms are maybe a bit too short

The face looks close enough to be. Anatomy wise, he's not that wide. That's what catches my eye first.

Something about the shape and positioning of the eyes looks a bit off to me. Maybe the eyeballs are slightly misplaced. In the area between the nostrils and the front (bulbous) area of the nose, the crease looks too defined in your model. Also, his nose in real life is slightly bent/twisted. Likenesses are really tough.

I agree with PHArt. His body looks too thick and muscular. Eminem is skinnier than that, especially around the shoulders.

You seem to have lost some of the likeness during the bake/lighting, and as mr_ace said, the clothing would benefit from having a more interesting silhouette.
