Creating a Tree in Max for Cryengine 3

I need an expert here. Or at least someone with more knowledge then me :)

First off, I'm a beginner..

Here's my model. . .
Tree.jpg

Now. . I'm having a problem exporting this into Cryengine properly. I need to set it up for touch bending, vertex paint, etc. I need to learn how to do this, as this isn't the only tree I want to use lol. There are some docs from the Cryengine site, but I don't know what to do in the docs. They aren't for beginners such as myself, and I'm barely learning max. Here's how the docs explain it: http://freesdk.crydev.net/display/SDKDOC3/Tree+and+Bush+Setup

Would anyone here be willing to help me with this? Via here on the forums, skype, xfire, etc. I've googled this for weeks and haven't found a single beginner style tutorial on how to do this. I can't imagine it'd take more then an hour to teach me.. Surely someone has the knowledge and patience for this :) Also, i'm far beyond the only one that has trouble with this. 3 Cryengines and there isn't one easy tut for this. I even purchased the dvds from Eat3D AND the cookbook. None explain how to do a tree properly. :( I'd be more then appreciative for any help I can get.

Go through the areas of that page you're interested in, they go over everything you need to know. Give it a go and if you're running into trouble, we'll try and help you out.

I started making foliage around 2 1/2 years ago with CE2, you're basically going to be turning out garbage vegetation for a really long time (assuming you're like most people anyway), so don't get discouraged if the results aren't what you want them to be yet.

Thanks for the reply.. but this is exactly what everyone keeps doing. . Linking me to the crydev docs. I can't follow them, as I have no idea what I'm doing. The docs weren't created for beginners. I don't know how to vertex paint, or set up my layers properly etc.

You're question's more in line with basic 3ds max features than, as opposed to making vegetation in cryengine.

Look in the 3ds max manual, use google, look at the PC wiki to figure out how to do the stuff you need to know.
