Hey so I've been wanting to start this project for a while and I finally found some time over this spring break. The concept art is from Diablo. Comments or any help as to how to tackle this would be great.

Need to finish off the back end, throw in some windows, and finish the interior.

did some more work in max. Decided to bring it into udk and throw my wall texture on all of it and run around to get a feel for it. Still need to get the windows in and then i'll start on my textures and sculpting some props.

That brick texture you have is very noisy. Also, don't take the trees in the background for a 1:1 scale, they're off scale in the concept. Keep it up!

Good start so far. One thing that pops out for me are the windows in the second floor of the front of the building. They look really skinny compared to the concept.

Here is a small update. Have some closeups of the wall and roof textures also. Haiasi, you said the brick texture looks too noisy. I'm guessing you mean I should have more solid colors like my roof tile? Need to work on the coordinates a bit and i'll create some smaller pieces to clutter it up a bit on the outside so its not so rigid.

double check your UV maps - looks like there is quite a bit of stretching going on.

Took a break from the chapel today. Decided to start working on some other assets like the tomb stones and trees. Here is a quick render of a low poly tomb stone. Probably need to throw in a chamfer or two.

Ok so i've busy with some other projects for a while but now im getting back into this. I'm currently having problems with my shadows. I went back and checked to see I unwrapped it right and that I was in the right channel in udk but im still not able to capture the silhouette right. Is there perhaps some setting in udk that I should be messing with? The light is also bleeding through but that is because of overlapping objects I think.





Still working on the landscape. I'll have some grass/bushes/trees/gravestones in there soon enough.

Hey man, this is looking really good. The only thing that stands out to me at the moment as not quite right is the roof above the main doorway. In the concept it appears to overhang the wall by 6 inches or a foot where as yours seems to overhang by maybe 3 feet.

Figured out the problem with the shadows. I'm curious as to how some of you set up your materials for grass. I'll post what I have in a few minutes.

Basically the grass meshes are made of about 3-5 polygons each. I have a slight emmisive on the material because the backsides turn completely black if i dont. I know that can't be right so any help is appreciated. Also, I know the base of the grass is really thin but the way they're set up that part is below ground and wont be seen.
