I'm trying to get Mudbox to import 3ds max's edge crease information but it doesn't seem to work.
Does it work for you guys?
I'm using Mudbox 2012 SAP and 3ds max 2012.
If I wanted to crease it manually with support edges I would do just that.
The problem is I want to get creases working and none of your post seems to be adressing the issue.
Do they work for you?
Do you have Mudbox 2012 SAP?
If Yes: go to smoothing option box, there is plenty of things to address this "issue" (it's a feature now). Read the documentation regarding this as all options are doing different stuff.

If no: you're screwed and you have to wait for Mudbox 2013.

Please spare me this pointless bantering.
I've read the article in documentation, tried all the checkboxes in subdivision options and hard edges when exported through fbx exporter rather than "send to mudbox" do work.
So I doesn't seem to be a Mudbox problem.
I appreciate your time guys, I was hoping somebody would have had the same problem
and a possible solution.
Giving me advice to subdivide my mesh manually or joking around about a bug beeing a feature doesn't help me at all.
im working with maya and i dont use the send to feature...
ive tested it once with max and it worked,.. but also exported by hand...
ive used smoothing groups in max for the hard edges...
I guess you're right, but that's just how I am.
I am pissed when someone doesn't even bother reading my posts
cause when I try to help anyone I start with listening to them in the first place.
It seems like the right thing to do.
It looks like no one has this issue anyway (or uses this feature) , I think I should try my luck with some mudbox specific forum.
If you have a working 3ds Max to Mudbox connection with working creases (not just hard edges for god's sake) please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.
Just work around it like i said before there our solutions to get models with nice edges into mudbox or zbrush, such as sending in a already subdivided mesh, which when you think about it is not really a big loss since you will end up using that geometry anyways in the sculpting process and prolly subdivide a few more times in mud/zbrush to get even more geometry to work with.

just make sure there is enough subdivision that mudbox dosnt smooth it out more than you want.
not that hard you need quite a few subdivision anywasy to sculpt so you might as well do a few of them in max so you can keep your shape first.

fbx exporter but not through "send to mudbox".
Could you possibly share a max file that works for you?
Edit: And also, how did you crease your edges?

Just something to think about.
