After realising i don't have enough free time to do a full character at the moment i decided to undertake a slightly smaller project.

I'm going to be trying to do as much of this project in Maya as possible including all the twirly bits
Will most likely zbrush the face, atleast as a rough mesh to retopo over.

Here's a little update, just starting to figure out some of the shapes that i need to create to build up the patterns.
And for those wondering how i'm going about adding the detail meshes to the base mesh, i made a small tut, found this technique from Slipgates making of Nox video;
