Appreciate the critique on it. I am always glad to get some freed back but the threads won't really be showing, but if I find time I will revisit that. Good thing is the threads barely show!
Looks nice and I'm really enjoying the level of detail you are taking this. My only real comments so far is that if you are wanting to stick very close to the reference then the rivets should be smaller and the bolts should be larger. The bolts in the reference are very prominate. Also if you are going to bake this, I would scale up the metal bands and pipe heads so the geometry doesn't poke through which would show up on the bake (possible).
looks cool man! one thing i will say is that the details kinda look paper thin and you need to use a shader with a high specular so you can see your details better.
ok on render noticed a muddy corner so just had to add a few edge loops so it was straight and not short bus curved. Here ya go and a little bit closer also.
Personally I wouldn't waste your time on screw threads and all that insignificant detail. You are really just wasting your time because it will not be seen.
Thanks for the input Donavon. Basically modeled the bolt because I never had and Raul said it would be more difficult than it looks....which it was to get the exact shape I was aiming for. Good thing is I can add it to my collection of things I dont need to ever model again
Sorry Computron not familiar with kit bash can you explain? Am still in school and never have heard that term.
Did some research basically is it having a kit of premade models to detail your work? Would be interested in it, but also i think its good practice for me to be modeling most if not all of my stuff at least right now.

I read this as meaning you were going to re-use the bolt you modeled here In other projects, that's called kit bashing. This would not be a good Idea because your edges are too tight, and would only show up as one pixel or less in your normal map.
