Maya creating fire around shape

hey guys, i got some exrecies to do from our VFX studio, so i can be able to go there for internship, but first i need to do some simply animation

I have stuck when i need to create fire around the shape, when i create effects>create fire, it's created in the middle of the shape, not around him like this.


But need to be something like this


And, the final scene need to look something like this

Have you done a google search, im not really a vfx/particle guy at the moment and others could probably help more than me but i did i quick search on google 'particles emmiting from object' and 'ring of fire particles in maya' pretty simple.
