The Caverns (Environment)

Hey All!

Started working on a new environment in UDK this past week. Been working pretty hard on it.

Essentially what it boils down to is a single player experience, just trying to get to the end of a cavern that's had a cave in. All they have is a flashlight.

Still a lot of work to do, but this is what I have so far.

I would love comments and critiques!



I'll keep updating as I come up when there's stuff to check out!

Hey Greg, now that I look at this closer, the scale seems to be a bit off. Either the holes in the grate are really big, or the cave and rocks are super tiny.

Probably the grate is too large, I'll fix that up.

Been working on some props for the caverns environment. So here we have a wall generator...panel...thing, I dunno it looks cool.

Something is off with the wall panel. I feel like the paint on the sides does not feel like paint. Feels more like a sticker, also is the wall panel suppose to be glowing?

You say 'wall generator...panel...thing' Try to clearly define what each object is and is for and you will get a better result.

Ambiguous: Yeah I think I might have the specularity turned up too high on that, I'll fix it, Also the glow is just something to help separate it from the background. Might be too harsh. thanks!

Darkleopard: Haha, I just didn't think anyone would really care about what the thing was. It's actually supposed to be a generator powered by a big battery (like in dead space!) and this is just the thing that's covering up the battery.
