[DS2] Axe, III ZoNeR III

I've been working on an axe design for fun and for practice for about a week now, in both Max and ZBrush, and I've been using the concept on the left (see below).

But now I'm beginning to question the look and decided to possibly go with different design. I drew up a more angular and more visually interesting concept and now I'm worried about the which design should I go forward with. If I go with the new design I'll work on the concept a little more to make it a little more rough looking and give it a little more "softer" look to it matches better with the "Darksiders Core" weapons. I should also mention that both designs will be a combination of bone (skull) and metal.

So basically I'm wondering if I should continue with the original design, or should I focus on developing the new design because it's visually more interesting?

    More angles means more Darksiders, usually, although in this case it really seems to mean more batman. I'd say combine both of your designs, keep the sharper angles but work in the rounder forms of the brow and cheeks of the skull. Also I think you're probably going to have the haft run straight up into the center, but what about having the two sides of the cheek come together to form it while retaining the open space that runs up to the nose? That would give you a nice touch of negative space.

    Thanx for you input Stinkhorse. :) I did try to work in rounder forms and tried to make it look less batman(ish). Here's what i have so far.
