This is my first ever model of a gun. I decided to go with the XD because I own one, which makes for some particularly good reference.
This is my completed low poly model. I made a high poly in ZBrush, did the low in 3DSMax, baked textures using XNormal, and rendered the shots for the image in Marmoset.

-certain parts of mesh look really dense, for example the trigger.
-you might want to make scratched areas darker on diffuse map. at the moment they have what i call 'bethesda syndrome'.
-shape of some scratches looks weird. lots of them look like small puddles thrown here and there (for example bottom of the grip). i can't imagine any motion that would produce such shape.
