Hey everyone here is vol 1 of a video series I did with 3dMotive.com.
It covers block out mesh creation in Maya and prepping for ZBrush sculpting. There's a bunch more to this video series. Hopefully people have as much fun watching it as I had working on it with them.

If you have any questions about the wood workflow just ask. Just keep it simple would be my advice.
Jimmy most of the Maya stuff is pretty transferrable to Max/Soft/whatever. That's only 1/3 of the video really. Most of it is in ZBrush and Photoshop. Again if you have any specific Max/Maya questions just ask.
Do you think this would help me in getting comfortable with it?
@KarlWrang Thanks! I tried to keep the texturing straight forward. I wanted to get more in depth but I was already running really long.
@Seirei I do talk about the basic hotkeys for Maya. But it's not 3 hours of that. It's very fast paced through the basics. But they are covered. If you've used Max there should be enough to transition over.
The last part covering baking, texturing, and presentation is out today.
