Underworld Game Level WIP


Hi Everyone, i started a new project with a few friends a few weeks ago, so I thought id start a thread.

PREMISE: we are basing the game level off Greek mythology, basically it will be a 5 room walk through, each room will have a main god that is themed around.
the 5 room will be:

The Rive Sticks
The Underworld
Aphrodite's Greenery
Poseidon's Shrine
Zues's Temple

It will be a game environment with strict texture budgets and a 15k tri limit for each room.

The room that ill be working on is The Underworld.

NOTE: This is my first game level that i will be working on, so ill be learning a lot on the way that will improve my skills and any crits will be very helpful :)

    I'm liking the bone/rib-cage sort of imagery you seem to be going for along the entrance hallway definitely something I'd push. Since it's heavily WIP there's not a whole lot to comment on.

    One thing you may want to try and incorporate further down the line would be some sort of sculpted wall texture with skeletons and or lost souls embedded in it, just a thought.

    I love Greek mythology especially stuff having to do with Hades and the Underworld so I look forward to seeing how this turns out. (also on that note it's spelled the River Styx, not Sticks, and Zeus not Zues ;) )

    Xelan thanks for the feed back and i was kinda thinking the same thing. i have been working ont the gate and have been doing the whole bones and skull thing. i was trying to push the whole soul theme with color work like having blues and purple being the main base color for the rocks and fire like disney used in hercules. but my lead artist does not want that. he is looking for the more reds and browns. so i have mixed the two ideas up using the reds and browns for the fire and the purples for the rocks.

    here is how the gate is looking so far.
