Hello guys!
I'm trying to do something like that in Maya using the non linear bend deformer:

I don't know why, but it's not working on planes and since I'm not familiar with deformers in Maya I don't know another way to do something similar to that.
I've seen other threads like this, but they did not help much.

maybe you have to move and rotate your bend deformer handle to get the start at the right position and set curvature to pi(3.14..)/4 which gives you a 90 degrees bend. then you might need to scale your plane to match your tiling. if you're done delete history will get rid of the deformer and bakes your mesh.
I was rotating the deformer in the wrong position...
