I'm a little late to the competition, but hoping to get something decent done in the next couple of weeks and learn along the way. It's inspiring to see all the entries so far

I've chosen to go with Maker theme as I'm generally more comfortable with hard surface over organics. Sculpting isn't my strong point either so I'll keep it to a minimum - I would normally try to push myself out of my comfort zone but time is limited!

A couple of basic thumbnails; feedback and crits appreciated

Hey, you have some good ideas here, I personally am favoring 3. 2 and 4 look good but I feel 2 is too close to angelic themes, and with 4 I am not sure if the curved bits fit exactly. So welcome to the contest and hit the ground running because you have some catching up to do.

Thanks for the feedback Turret. I'd say I'm happiest with number 3 too - I'll start work on developing this further.

(although, when you say the curved metalwork doesn't fit with number 4 - do you mean it clashes with the rest of the design? Or it doesn't suit the theme entirely?)

Number two has a lot of strength to it. A nice broad head on each side with a really fat stubby spike coming out of it would look great. Hit that sucker with a lot of weathering and you could have a contender.

I'm late with this - but still optimistic I can finish on time Mesh is blocked out, any last minute feedback on proportions etc. before I take this into Mudbox?

Getting into the sculpting, but I'm gonna be relying on crazybump quite a lot because time is short
