Seriously getting tired of some of the self-indulgently cynical responses to the KONY 2012 project.
Nobody here is implying that. It seems to me like you've been turning a blind eye against contructive criticism to the project and are being generally misinformed, like most people. You can possibly understand a fraction of what is going on over there in a 30 min video. That's why more research on the issue needs to be done before blindly supporting it.
Disagree? Come up with something better. Saying its a waste of time, might make you feel better about your own lack of imagination, but it doesn't do shit for anyone else.
That argument is a perfect example of lack of imagination. Nobody is saying it's a waste of time, what we're saying is that IC isn't exactly what it boasts it is. Some of IC's responses to their critics are laughable at best.
my post mostly was directed to what ive seen on the internet/facebook feeds should have made that more apparent.
I think its good to see if your money is going to the right people or not, and really you dont even need to give them your money just make sure to spread the word and bring attention to the things that are happening in that country.
they did their worst 10 years ago? and haven't struck in 6 years?
Didn't they chop up 100 people last year?
I assume in south Sudan? In which case I thought all the hacking and feeding of family members to each other was in South Sudan? ( The 40 thousand children who went into the woods to sleep to escape abduction )
Did not finish the video, So I am assuming that the supposed 1500 criminals are just hiding in Uganda?
Or the terrorist threats to South Sudan last year were not true?

Towards research to answer my own questions... I just learned that South Sudan was recently central Uganda. Which just confuses me more? So I suppose it is still a Uganda issue despite where the current hunting grounds are. And from what I can tell, after/about recent congolese election the LRA hunting grounds has changed to the congo?

EDIT EDIT: Thank you good sir.
I think he made a great case for IC. I think there's still a lot to be addressed about the situation, but I think the effort is genuine. God forbid the man trying to do some good in this world, and it sounds like it's making a difference. Haters gonna hate?
Most people like me don't have an issues against the guy himself (IC) or the raising of awareness, but the white knighting the self-righteous casseroles who watched the video are doing as well how the organizations are run.
Also, not to mention that this will solve nothing at it's core, unless the people in the region itself change and there is some serious both moral and physical changes in the regions at hand. Anyone recall that large U2 concert that raised billions of dollars for the kids of Africa? That money ended up in the hands of the corrupt government and warlords more then it did for the civilians, that money which was supposed to help people ended up killing more people.
Let me put it this way;
"Kony took 99 kids, but your status didn't even save one, even if you did, they wouldn't have much of a life".
See where many of us have an issues on Kony 2012? A simple 'pledge' won't solve anything.
People I spoke to anticipated seeing a video that showed the world the terrible atrocities that they had suffered during the conflict, and the ongoing struggles they still face trying to rebuild their lives after two lost decades.
The audience was at first puzzled to see the narrative lead by an American man Jason Russell and his young son.
Towards the end of the film, the mood turned more to anger at what many people saw as a foreign, inaccurate account that belittled and commercialised their suffering, as the film promotes Kony bracelets and other fundraising merchandise, with the aim of making Kony infamous.
A co-founder for Invisible Children was detained in Pacific Beach Thursday night for being drunk in public and masturbating, according to San Diego Police Department.

That sums up my complaints about the video. Spread the word, not money

lol
Yes, because I too take of my clothes and run around naked, pounding my fists and molesting cars like a masturbating tramp when children are involved.
