Thinking about colors and materials. Currently have 2 variants, both looks demonic: one dark metal + fire, another more bright metal, maybe some stone.
Thanks for comments guys!
Just finished with low poly. After baking normal map and AO noticed that some spikes started to look odd. So probably I'll change high poly a bit and then bake maps again.
Made some changes to high poly. Currently working on texture, but still not sure what i'll get in the end
Another thing I'm worrying about - is it still a mace or it's axe already?
Appreciate your comments guys! It really pushs me forward:)
And here is some progress. Thinking about adding some color variation, because now it's only blue everywere.
I'm super jealous of the shape. It's so good that every time I look at it I keep getting this "I want to hold it" thought. I would not be surprised if it ended up in the top 3.
Nothing wrong with a little blue *cough* But really I think you should try to break up the greys a little. Overlay some reds, purples, greens all over it to make it less monotome. Other than that it's a stellar piece.
You might want to consider some color variance in your forms. Some gradient shifts, or out right color changes between say the skull, it's frame, and the spikes. It doesnt have to be much.
That's looking really nice! I like the silhouette and your color selection. The only thing I might suggest is darkening the wrappings and maybe desaturate them a bit. Looking good
