after several pages of pencil sketches, another sheet of sillhouettes and then this page of thumbnails... I finally have what I believe to be a reasonable direction...

that being said... please.. C and C me! Even now as I look at the most recent painted one i feel that the head proportion is a bit off...

Looks most interesting. Maybe you should add some kind of simplified curved hair after this head? Weapon looks really good, only the handle need some tweaking to fit more into proxy. Although on second though there is no feeling of 2 handed weapon mass, now it looks like one hand weapon... maybe because this thin handle in the middle?

I thought it was a griffions head there for second with the lower part of the mace doubling as a beak.

As for your designs I prefer the first one the most.

Tweaked concept for proportions and worked out some pommels.



Start of the blank, still needs more polys in quite a few places and a couple of tweaks, probably do a quick paintover on some fixes and see if i can plus it.

sculpting! feedback is always nice. I'm pretty happy with most of it, going to sleep on it come back with some fresh eyes tomorrow, or something. The wings were tough to get and they still are not perfect buuut, they may have to do.

Looking good. Tighten up some of that edge work so it doesn't look soft and your in business. Only thing that is weird to me is the negative space on the hitting surface.

Cool design, might just be me but if its the angelic theme that you are going for the face might benefit from being a bit "softer".

thanks for the feedback guys, I've also done a bit of chatting with some friends and come up with a bit more revised edition. sculpt is nearing completion I'm pretty happy with it at the moment.

Some things I'm thinking about - might still try some head variations and see how they feel, also pondering a place to put a gem or something, add some of that lovely glow we all enjoy so much.
