Here's da concept I'm going with. Gotta move fast if I want to meet the deadline. Its based on the Seraph, a high rank of angel that has three pairs of wings. It will be a 3-sided mace as well. Not to sure about the face but we'll see where it goes in 3D.
Done blocking in, ready to take it into zbrush but I wanted to make sure the size is okay first, it sticks out of the top of the proxy a bit, not sure if its too much?
I'd say you're fine in regards to the proxy. As long as the head piece is in the middle of the green box you're fine.
Sculpting wise it's looking pro but I can't help but get this Egyptian vibe from the strip pattern. Basically your concept had it right, why the change?
Hey Habboi thanks for the feedback! Honestly I wasn't really sure what to do with the feathers so I went with this and I kinda like it, but I'll have a go at what it looks like a little closer to the original.
edit: Hmmm, can't decide which one I like more, the second one will have damage too
Lots of people seem to be doing flanged maces as opposed to solid ball-type maces, interesting. This one of yours does have a pretty unique shape though, well done.
Thanks Astral, I think the flanged mace might be because people have been playing too much Skyrim (I know I have) since all the maces in there are flanged.
In the mean time I have an update! Baked everything and I've been optimizing but its coming in at 1963 tris but I don't think I can get it down much more without destroying the silhouette. It being a 3-sided mace isn't helping. Any tips would help!
