Hey bro looks like you're off to a solid start. I like that top hammer, without all the studs. I also think you should go back and work on the concept a bit more though, to refine the design before jumping into 3d
Can't wait to see more concepts.
Also, this hammer was boss without the studs and the head to hilt transition looks a little bland to me.Spice it up a bit man.
and a livestream vid of Bobo's weapon demo.He gives a lot of good info about DS2's themes and thangs in the stream, man is gold.Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
This is my base mesh for my hammer. I completely left the one I thought was "the one" and thought about the battering ram men used to bust down massive doors.
I'd get rid of those spikes, they look cool but functionality wise they dont make much sense the sides of a hammer. I did a paintover and tweaked your design a bit to break the symmetry
my paintover is more darksiders core, I wasnt sure if you were going demonic or core <_<
check out Averys stream from last night if you haven't already, it should help out with overall darksiders style
But you've had plenty of time so get a design down and crack on. If you want my advice, your previous examples tell me organic stuff isn't your forte and you lack time.
So I suggest going Maker like your first concept only really study what Maker is all about and think "BIG" because I can tell you now that anything big will grab the judges attention. I hope you can push a good piece out!
Yeah, your kinda right. with a layoff, trying to find work and working 3 part times, yah. I have very little experience in something like this and I have been changing with the advice given from respectable artists. If I don't make the cut, this will be an amazing learning experience anyways. I am cracking down on my sculpt now. It is as the last suggestion Daphz made. Its Demonic!!
Hello all. I am stepping away from the contest. I don't have enough time and running into several texturing issues that I couldn't solve through youtube or pc wiki. Thanks for all your help. I will continue to practice. To review my basics.
I tried to texture using 3d coat. I thought I had it down but my workflow was all over the place. Where can I go to learn a clean workflow with 3d coat?
