Hey everyone. I decided to shoot for the axe category for this contest (at least for now). Demonic is the sub-group I've picked. Here is my concept so far:



The Axe of the Fallen. As always crits and comments are welcomed. This was just a quick sketch, so I plan on refining it and tossing some asymmetry in there for more visual interest...maybe add some Darksiders Core elements in as well.

Looks cool. The angular shapes in the pommel don't really match with the curved and twisting shapes in the rest of the weapon. I'd say to come up with another pommel or to rough it up and make the edges less straight.

Update on the concept. First pass looked a little too Diablo.

Shmaba: Agreed, updated to look like the tail of the Fallen now.

Also added some wraps to the horn/blades.

I really like that concept. That jaw and them eyebrows especially.

zeroSlave: Thanks man. I liked the idea of making a weapon using the body parts of enemies. I thought the design of the Fallen enemies from the first game was really nice.

If Darksiders were a little more gruesome I would have just chained the Fallen's torn head to a handle, but its not that gross so I need to figure out a "fused" look.

Hey dude! It's shawn, I'm diggin it! No real harsh crits for it, everything is solid. I'd say maybe push the exaggeration on the face a little more, and it might be cool to carry that twisted vine motif from the handle into him if it could be done without making it too busy. But this is all just knee jerk things I thought of, I'm excited to see colors too. Good job and good luck!
