Can anyone pass on any tips or tricks for even poly distribution for lowpoly models.
I want to start modeling for games.
Seems to be a challenge to keep your detail and keep even distribution.
why do you want even distribution for lowpoly? use polys where needed and reduce where are less normal changes. the silouette and details matter.
for redndering it comes down how your engine calculates the lighting. with no normals you might need some more polys, if you have any shading on your models...
For good even distribution, I suggest you use good and even distribution.

You have the answer in your question. Stop trying to think too much about it, just do it. There's no such thing as a theory to learn for that kind of stuff. Observe the way game models are made in games you like, and get started already! Post your results here and you'll get feedback that way.

I was over thinking it.
