The sillhouette is cool. You should make the shapes more clear even if it's a rough sketch though. The sketch should help you decide what details you will put there and how well they will work together.
Thanks a lot, and no worries, that was my initial plan, that's like the super quick sketch done during my break. It's just I wanted to show something while creating the thread ^^
the handle isn't even there yet
Your lines lack consistency, it's quite hard to judge the overall piece because this is sketchy. Your blade is too squashed in the width. Any weapon looks more impressive with a precise, round/sharp blade.
The idea itself - a devilish hand planted on the weapon - is interesting, but you can still work on it.
There is just one big defect that tends to impoverish your creation overall : the blade bit at the bottom of the crane, because of its orientation mostly.
-____- Noooo .. Somehow I almost regret working for a big game company.
They denied me the right to participate to this challenge ( as well as for other colleagues ) as it'll be working for a competitors' game (not that i was gonna win anyway). Damn corporate policy.
I guess I'll finish it out of the competition, once the deadline is reached or something.
Hum yeah, i'd agree because i'm that good at 2D, but i want to make a very skinny/scorched/ almost zombie like hand. So yeah skeleton could do. I'll see when i'm sculpting it... after the 26th.

Good luck and keep it up !
Thanks for the critics
I'm trying to refine the piece right now...
