This is my WIP for the Splash Damage Environment Art Test they posted on their site the other day. Looking for any comments and critiques before I layout the UVs and texture. Obviously the image on the far right is the concept. Thanks for your time
Well, if your doing this just for fun and using the concept for the sake of the concept, then who cares? But if you'r actually going to apply to them with it, you should check if it's ok first.
I would also agree, Naughty Dog are quite rigid on their art tests, from what I have seen though they do give you some beautiful Uncharted-esque concepts... Do check though this is a very popular forum with the games industry....
sure it's open, but it's a huge difference between someone making the artest completely alone, compared to with crits and what not from a big community. I'm solely talking about if he's going to apply to them when it's done.
Looks like a fun excercise. Im not sure people took the last art test that seriously. But your stuff is looking good thus far. Im intrested how you interpet the texturing.
Keep in mind the concept is so vague and undefined to force people to show how they creatively fill the gaps and come up with their own interesting interpretations...
I am thinking about doing that art test. Is it okay to include an art test in your portfolio/showreel? Or is it the sort of thing you keep to yourself then submit to the company?

The model looks a tad wide from that perspective, but it could be my eyes fooling me, idk.
And yeah, it does look a bit wide
