Hey great conepts! Hard to choose but for me it stands between the demonic weapons though the angelic are pretty strong as well. Perhaps you could make one new demonic and angelic combining the best parts from the current ones.
Thanks guys, still asking around about which one to do
I updated the image a bit with thinner outlines (as my wife said they were distracting), and I made it a bit bigger so if you zoom you can see all those dang details I painted in.
Nr 2 - eye demon axe is a bad ass.
Nr 3 - Fits the angelic theme rock hard. Might wanna go with that one due to all the crazy demon axe-guys running around.
Whaaaaaat that face is the shizbiz. There's a little, uh, lumpiness(?) I guess, in a few areas (specifically around the top of the handle under the face and also in the wing pattern area on the blades), but otherwise very excellent sculpt

Glad you like the face, I worked on it quite a bit on that last pass.
I see the poofy parts in the wings; probably just missed them when I was flattening the first design I put into there haha. I don't see what you mean under the face though, can you be more specific about the location?
Hey Daedalius, I think most of your damage, and many of your details are too small and too numerous. Too much high frequency detail. Try to create & represent larger, more readable forms.
Yeah, that's why I wasn't sure lumpy was the right word to use. I was just referring to the softer parts of the design under the face. Like for example, the loop that comes down and contains the cross (I'm terrible at describing things) is nice and crisp, but the cross itself is sort of soft and vaguely formed. I just think that exaggerating all of the forms and their intersections (ie more sharper) would help sell the design instead of where it's at right now where some of the forms kind of blend together (I'm talking specifically about the top of the handle under the face of course, the rest of the sculpt is ace). I know this isn't the final sculpt and blah blah blah, but I figured I mention it anyway. I hope this all makes sense and helps clear stuff up.

Yes thanks
I upped my resolution quite a bit on that piece from before and didn't resculpt that cross; so that is probably why it isn't as sharp as the rest. I basically just went through the whole sculpt last time with the trim dynamic brush sharpening stuff up and making everything clearer(and higher resolution).

Thanks SD,
this is mostly what I have been trying to do since the initial sculpt, sharpening and trying to make the forms more readable; however I will try to make them larger as well.
Perhaps I will get my lowpoly going and do some test bakes to see how the details come out at 512. I doubt the overall form will change much at this point, probably safe to make the lowpoly.
Updated my concept a bit again, went more back towards the initial work with a bit of the other angelic concept mixed in. Wasn't really a fan of how the sharp geometrics broke the overall flow of the weapon.

That one with the scorpion stinger look interesting.
I'll be lucky if I can model 1 to be honest.
I'd love to make them all though.
1 and 7 look pretty badass.

Personally I'd go for 1. It's a nice little nod towards Death's Mask.
And bobo, glad you like them really enjoyed the stream. (lol, I like "Austin Texas!" in your profile, I'd probably say that too if I was there...)
Might try to start a mesh tonight; but also might just try to do some sculpt practice as well, haha.
Time to get sculpting!

I think the geometrics on the wings might be a bit distracting, may go back to my initial concept just to have etchings on the blades.

I will hit that part later and sharpen it up

Should have a new/final sculpt up tomorrow.
Did another pass on the sculpt bulking up details and refining the forms to read better.
Added initial diffuse bake

Nice Axe !
I was wondering about your spec map..
What are you trying to achieve by doing the swirl in it ?
Thanks in advance for answering !
