[DS2] - Mace / Hammer - Wahlgren

Haven't decided on mace or hammer yet. I'm kinda just waiting to see what the designs leans towards.

Here's some lunch doodles. Been eyeing alot of Darksiders concept art. The far right gargoyle thing i'm thinking would be nice with a chiseled from rock kind of thing with a slight glow from inside of it. It's also gotten the most love as of now.

EDIT: I also did a little livestream as a test. Nothing I've ever done and I'm no concept artist by any means, Still it was fun and even kept me more focused.

Cool idea. Definitely have the wings sticking out and utilize them as spikes to impale enemies with

The wings seem to me like they would work better for an axe design, maybe if there are 2 together holding a large weight like a hammer, or more upwards into a solid kind of wing wrap for the mace?

I was worried it was too cheezy, I've got some neat ideas for the gargoyle ones that I want to try out. Im gonna iterate on it now, I just got home from work and I'm cramming a burger into my face with one hand while trying to paint with the other one.

I added one at the bottom for you. Nr 13, The gargoyle brothers.

Now I'll select the best three and do some tweaks to them, make em better etc, add some detail. Overall I personally like 13, 10, 7 and 8... that's not three now is it

I prefer 7 still, but only if the wings stuckout a little more.

I like 8. It's got that possessive "My blunt instrument of death!" feel to it. Or possibly the little demon is holding on for dear life as it's swung all over the place. Plus, those sharp wingtips would end up being the dot on the exclamation point when you get hit by it. I also like 13.

Hey man, I was thinking as far as the demon swatter design goes it would be cool making the wings raised in a way that it looks like its flailing and slicing with the blade like edges of the wings. Also open its mouth showing some fangs. Just basically make the demon a bit more ravenous looking.

Must say C is my favourite so far =]

Like making the heads bigger perhaps? I can jive with that.

You're really breathing some life into this piece bud. really digging the hilts of lava through the hilt. I think you'd be better off going with the demon swatter and its looks chunky and deadly.

Hey dude! I like C too, but the pose of the gargoyles if throwing me off it. It looks very stiff and forced - like their posing back to back for a charlies angels cover. D had more of a natural stance with the arched back. I think bringing the wings up and making them larger would fill the space more too. Bobo said don't be afraid to leave the bounding box for the weapons head!

Block out and proportion test. Not optimized, Not final lowpoly.

I'll probably have to make the wings chunkier to look less weak after some input from friends.

I like C, tho like other people are saying I think you need some wing iterations, right now they are feeling a little weak. I like how you made one of the two a little broken
