[DS2] Mace, Moosebish

This is the first challenge I've ever attempted, we'll see how it goes...

I drew out a bunch of concept for Crow Temple, Maker's, and Demonic. But I decided to go with Maker's.

Here's the concept I came up with. I'll probably put a lot of work into this over the next few days since I'll be gone most of next week and I have nothing to do this weekend...

I like where this is heading! I wish there was "more" to the pommel to balance the whole thing out a little. Very nice concept.

@SouthpawSid - Ya, I was thinking about that too. I made it a little bigger in the block out, there isn't a whole lot of room down there to make it much bigger and stay inside the proxy..

ahh good deal. Yeah I like it more already with the added girth down there at the bottom. (that sounds wrong)

I've yet to check out the proxy in max. I'll have to get to that soon once I am happy with a sketch or two!

I quote this from BoBo_the_seal, "Maces can exceed the width of the supplied proxy. That box mostly represents the hit phantom." I do like the mace though, definitely has that maker feel to it but the colors read Angelic? Like the block out in Maya definitely nice to have a 3D model to look at.

Good idea but be careful to not make it look too manufactured. The Screws and threads are too modern day. Push it to be a bit more fantasy.

And thanks for letting me know that Bobo. I was thinking that the Maker's style was an Arts and Craft style...

I'm working on a modified version of it now, I should have it up later today..

I'm putting some more thought into this second concept, its taking me a bit longer, but here's where its at.. I'm not quite satisfied with the front of it..

i definitely dig the side a lot more. i'd kind of like to see what you've got planned for the top as well, though

handle feels to busy to me. I would love to see it simplified yet still a little interesting to look at. But the mains pieces are the two ends of the weapon anyways right? haha
