s'up pc?
So it turns out I'm a bit of an idiot. I've been sending out a lot of resume's and applications over the last few months, and in most cases I've heard nothing back even as far as a "hey we got your e-mail, don't call us we'll call you" message (which at this point I'm pretty used to). So today a buddy of mine who works at a studio in town passed my res off to his HR people and then suggested I resubmit it after correcting a few error's. Most were format and grammar but there was one really big one that's now got me a little paranoid. It turns out that in my resume where I've got my portfolio linked, there's a typo in the hyperlink that instead of going to my portfolio, goes to a pop-up spam site....
eep.
So I've fixed it, and my question here is: should I try to reapply at these companies with a note saying something like "Sorry for the spam, I've fixed it up and am still interested" or just wait for the next time they have an open position and hope they don't remember my name?
And just in general, are re-applicants still looked at? Or are they generally ignored? There's a couple places where I've applied a few times and I got further along the first time so it kinda feels like they're ignoring me on purpose now.
Not trying to sound lame and whiny here, just genuinely curious

Also triple check your initial emails, first impressions are important.
You could always include a .zip file with your emails that includes your portfolio pieces just incase there's any internet problems or something like that happens again.
Are you damaging your image by applying again whenever a similar position opens up, or should you just hope they take the time to check and see if your portfolio has gotten better?
An aside to that, I had a few instances where I simply sent an email a couple months after my initial application saying something like, "Hey, I've added to my portfolio since our last correspondence, and I just wanted to make sure you have the most current form of both my resume and portfolio." After initiallly being rejected, and getting the standard form letter, I actually got a personalized email from someone at the studio, just telling me what I should work on or just letting me down easier in some cases
2 months is a good waiting period, staffing needs can change a lot in a short time. I don't think the circular file is plundered very often. It's better to be fresh.
Also it shows you have a lot of interest in the company, if you're persistent. Just don't be a stalker, be polite and show something new each time. If it's the same form letter and portfolio, then that won't help your chances.
Check out Natsuume's article, great advice.

sounds like re-sending with a short note should work.
