Going to try this comp out, need to work on my hand painting anyway and this should help me out. I'm going to be doing a Angelic style for it. Will start to work on the concepts and try and get it up here soon enough.

ok i got a concept of what i want to do, please bear with me and my horrid concept skills. Tried to look at some ornate shapes and designs, also tried to get the blades to look like angel wings.

notes
-most likely will have to reduce some size here and their in the model, the axe blades for sure.
-try and not get it looking like sci-fi
-may mess around with head transition part, looking kinda funky their.
-start building the box out

cool concept, are you gonna try for more butterfly-like wings? or more like bird wings? I think both could make a cool axe design.

Yeah thanks ShootandRun I want it to look more like the eagle type of angel wings, or at least the silhouette. Started working a little on the model deciding how I would execute some of the things. A little worried that my wings don't look angel enough and are too sharp, and that transition between the head and handle transition needs something. Any advise is more than welcome. :poly122:

Worked on the model a little, going to start working the details for the handle transition and blade to see how it looks, still not too happy with the head, might change it to angel body with the wings coming out of the back.

I like it. Especially the pommel. Maybe for the neck, you could keep it angling out instead of out and then into the head of the angel. Kind of to keep the flow from the handle? would also kind of match the silhouette of the inside of the wings. Good job!

Thanks zeroSlave, I might end up change it to what you said, do mean kinda of like a dress shape?.
I think I got a mesh Ill take into zbrush and mess with. Worked a little on the hand transition part. Would like to know if the designs on it are ok and if I should make the designs round, kind of like roman empire armor, or try making them into angel wing design themselves. Also fooling around with the idea of adding some sort of design to the interior of the blades.:poly142:

Worked some on the Handle Transition, gotta sharpen some things out their a little smudged at the moment.

Nice direction but try to keep the details big and bold because we only get 512 texture space, some of that fine detail you are putting in might get lost.

Sorry to mention this after you've put so much effort into it, but the butterfly theme of this weapon doesn't match anything we have in Darksiders.

Not really crazy about the hand transition, the waves don't seem like they belong if Angelic is what you'r going for.

The latest version of the blade looks a lot better.

Did some more work on the Blade. Hoping I can finish this and the handle tomorrow so I can start getting the low poly set and start baking down. :thumbdown:

ok I baked it down to the lowpoly, its at 1722 tris right now. Got some normal map issues I got to fix first and then hopefully I can start to texture this.:thumbdown:
