hello,
when I used to use blender, and created textures that had alpha in photoshop, I didn't need to do the alpha channel manually. For example, if I had a fence texture... I would search for a picture online, cut off the fence and delete the rest of the picture. What would be left was the fence itself + the checkerpattern of photoshop (layer without background). Then I would go and save the texture as a png and load it into blender and it was working...
Now I tried the same using the cryEngine but it didn't work. So I had to go and create the alpha channel manually by painting the areas where the fence was white and the rest black.
Why is this so? How can I let photoshop do the alpha channel automatically?
