alright im just gunna throw this out there.
Is it possible to get mocap data from a single camera video, using adobe AE.
I've been playing around with the idea of having 3d objects rendered out and insterted in to a video clip using AE. This is easy-ish but i dont know if its possible to export the camera movement out of AE in to MAX and render the object using the camera movement to animate it.
i know this might be slightly over the horizon here on polycount but i just thought i'd give it a go.
crap i was supposed to post this in technical talk..

you could try blender for the tracking, or the foundry has a good tracker here: http://www.thefoundry.co.uk/products/cameratracker/
getting the camera data into max is something i cant comment on. I've only ever done it with boujou
i didnt get much right when making this thread did i?
edit: i just checked out foundry and it seems to be exactly what im lookin for thanks.
