Hey all,
this is the flak 88 canon that I've been working on, this is the current highpoly,
please c&c, I tried to give it some lighting but I'm not the best at lighting :P
If you would like better shots of specific areas lemme know and I'll post em.
Thanks everyone!

I myself modelled a Flak88 (but with the version with a shield) during my school time and i think your proportions are well done! (way better than mine )
update, new render in max!!!
I second the thing about loosening up some of those edges
cool render!
Some other views:
you got something odd going on with the shadows in the renders though.. usually that sort of blurry shadows are only in real time renders/games
@Olli: thanks I'm pretty happy with how it came out, lighting made a HUGE difference
@dim: thank yee and Voila, the lp is below..in the process of being tackled
For the shadows since I've been getting feedback on that right now the shadow map size is at 1024, one light has 8 samples, the other has 14, I'll be bringing it up to like 2048 and like 20 samples. If anyone knows of other setting for me to change to bump up the shadows please let me know
update: working on the lp, I'm not sure if I can get it lower than 13992 tris, I wanted it to be less that 13k, if anyone sees spots where I can cut out polys let me know
Also i think I fixed the weird shadow problem

I'm trying to find ways to bring more color into it but the flak is really just one color. I'm trying to decide how grungy I want it to be, all of the reference pictures I have are from museums which have them pretty clean, any ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
the lp comes out to be 11796 tris
normals, diffuse (which is currenly wip)
I'm working on them in 4096, then end texture I'm hoping will be 2048
I forgot to update, I did a liiiitttttle more work to it, it might look a lil different :poly121:
I've added water marks and worked on the spec and gloss maps more to try to make the whole thing have little pockets of details/eye candy
thoughts on the water stains? should I make them stand out more? less?
Congrats on the frontpage mention dude!
^_^
