so the more i get into using zBrush the more i notice how hard it is to navigate just using tablet and keyboard. I often end up twisting my neck rather than trying to move anything with those shitty controls :P
so i considered buying a Trackball but im really unsure what to take cos of the huge Price range (10~400). Also i'd only need this for zBrush, moving in any other 3d app is no problem.
Anyone here who has one? what do you think? what would you recommend?

Never tried it though, I just got use to using It with a mouse, Local Transformations Saved me from raging
using a trackball is alsmose the same except for some models using the thumb.
id say for gaming a trackball is good(fps) but too inacurate for other tasks
edit; i still wish to have a mouse that has a big trackball on thumb for scrolling
Depends on what you're used to I guess. I always used a trackball so I'm far more accurate than I am with a mouse (<even though I've been using those at work/school for 5+ years now)
But I don't think he means the mouse trackballs, but the 3D navigation kind of trackball. Like this (<even though this example isn't actually a ball at all )
you need to be german to be able to use that kind of mouse

thes seems to be more usable for 3d navigation
I had that exact one. Really annoying to use the hotkeys: they're really hard to push down, which is especially bad for a weak finger like you pinky... They absolutely don't compare with how easy keyboard keys are, things like holding down shift or alt are an absolute pain!
As for the Spacepilot/Spacenavigator devices : this stuff is pretty much useless for fast and efficient work, but it does have some benefits for review. 3D artists have a tendency to "microspin" their model around like crazy when it comes to showcasing it for review/validation. The 3DConnection devices tend to produce a very smooth, gentle (slow!) motion that really is great for showing details of a model to someone.
I love you.
