I've added a bunch of 16th, 17th and 18th Century ship blueprints up on my blog. They are extremely high resolution in .TIFF format, and they took me days to gather up and compile together. I wanted to share them with others to help make finding references for these types of ships much easier. Enjoy.

Now we need a Polycount Community Old Ship Thread.
For those guys who need more details on those ships - books for wooden ship model builders are very good resources. Those guys often go into extreme details, like how to do the knots, and ropes and winches, sails, etc. all with close up illustrations of the small details.
I got both of those books - lots and lots of pictures (don't let the German text scare you)

I really loved nurbs for doing sails and the hull of the ship - although nowadays I'd switch to polies sooner. Back then I stuck to nurbs till the end... at least it gave me nice UVs
