What's the name of that song? I dig it. As for crits I am no FX expert, but I think your stuff looks really good, congrats on working on/shipping such a gorgeous game! I think you should re-position the information for each shot. It's in really small writing at the bottom of the screen, and I felt by the time I was done reading the text, you had almost moved onto the next shot. It was hard to read the text at the bottom and take in what was playing. Maybe larger text, possibly a little off the bottom?
Shit's fucking sexy. The cloth material is absolutely badass. I wouldn't have thought to combine vertex painting and shader-based mesh displacement for effects like that. Brilliant!
My only suggesting would be the editing. The small text at the bottom takes my eyes off of your work for almost half of the short clip you are showing. Maybe think about reworking it to read the text and then see the video.
Nice stuff as always, next top-dollah position imminent I say! Agree on slightly distracting info texts, I found myself pausing to read before playing, so maybe put the info up before each segment instead of overlayed?
Thanks so much for the kind words, it really means a lot to me that you guys like this stuff. It makes me want to push even harder now.
To address the text issue... i agree with it being a little difficult to read. I went through 4 iterations of the demo reel before i finalized this one, and each time the critique i got from the MD guys was that it was too long. So after trimming out 2 minutes of unnecessary stuff, I arrived at this iteration. With that being said, If I were to put the text up before each shot for about 3 - 5 seconds, it would have increased the reel by around 1 and a half to 2 minutes... and i didn't want to have a 5 minute reel, and risk someone skipping ahead because of the length and missing something important.
The text at the bottom was a compromise, because I realized if someone wanted to read more about the shot, they could always pause it and read it and resume play. However this might be a bit distracting, it was required to keep the demo under 4 minutes, and it was necessary to point out exactly what was going on in the shot, since some of the stuff may be confusing to recruiters/hiring managers.
With that being said, if the reel was shorter in nature, i totally would have used that method, but i had to make the tough compromise and do it that way instead.
Anyways, thanks again for all the kind words guys. Much appreciated.
It came out great, virtuosic. I think that you could always upscale the video and be able to read the text(unless you have a really tiny monitor) but the rest of the stuff looks really nice. Good luck with the job hunting.

Great stuff btw! You really should find something soon with your level of skill!
Really great work though!
I digged the song too. Sounds like a remix to one of the Tron 2 songs.
Good luck with the job search, hope you land somewhere awesome.
(Wish I could help on the job front, alas.)
Really wish I could help you on the job front, how about moving to Sweden eh?
DISCLAIMER: I am not involved with Humanhead

Yea interesting use of blending, and mask texture, good job on that one
