also with your windmill you have made the windmill blades they are flat facing and the way windmills work is like a fan and need to be angled towards or away from the stucture e.g
that way while the wind blows past the blades it spins for the power.
Thank you Peter.3dartist I actually didn't know that fact about windmills thats really crucial so thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix that when I get to fixing the windmill.
thanks for the feedback, I'll add more edge loops for the island.
Oh I was originally going with photo real textures, but I think handpainted textures for this piece would be more interesting, and I'm planning to do tilables for some pieces like the roof of the house, and the Islands. What do you think?
tile-able textures would work out for the Roof but i think you will have some problems with the islands due to there shape it would probably work out better if you use a unwrap and then fix the edges later on.
contrary to peter i would recommend using tileables for the ilands, that way you could practise some very interesting things like vertex painting using masks for blending.
ofcourse you would need way more polys on the islands to do that effectively.
dont know to wich engine you want to port this, if any.
i think the reference has a weak point at the floor. its the same stones everywhere, wich looks kinda boring to me. i would recommend to mix it up a little with usual dirt and gras.
also you definitly need to add the roots and ranks, hanging from the lower side of the isles. i think that would look realy awesome.
Update, and base textures. The brown planes at the bottom of the islands are going to be alphas where I'll be painting in extra roots attatched to the islands.
Can anyone help me figure out why my UDK scene won't save, and this message pops up. I've been exporting my mesh from max into UDK and each time this message comes up http://i40.tinypic.com/294ox8k.jpg[/IMG]

Islands look a little blocky/pointy at this point, might be worth adding more loops to give a better silhouette.
What kind of style are you going for? Are you going to hand paint textures?

IN UDk:
Finally got mesh into scene, and lightnings built.
Its missing so grass mesh, and planes to cover the edge of island piece.
