So I will be doing a take of my own on some Star Wars inspired weapon sets for this thread. I have been slowly getting myself back into this after having taken a break from it that I wanted to brush up on things before tackling some bigger projects .
So heres what i have for starters is a high poly of a polearm from a selection of quick sketches I did.Since both sides will be the same just one will be flipped I am only showing one half of it. Basically Im wanting to make this, and many more to come, as detailed on the high poly as I can and then bake normal's from it to the low poly version and work on from there.
I feel I have the shapes pretty much defined in most of the model and all the bits added to it. I think what's mostly been giving me some trouble was the blade and some areas that still seem a little bit blobby to me but extra eyes always help I'll let the shots do the rest of the talking and yeah any and all feedback is always appreciated.
So for this update I was trying out a few different version of grips for the hilt of this weapon. Mostly different ways I could either construct it or shape it. Most of them were more throw aways then anything but I have narrowed down the ones I have made so far into these 5. More will come I'm sure
As for the blade. This time I built it from two separate parts instead of one mesh. This I feel looks a bit better and has eliminated some issues I was having with the other versions I had made. Could probably use a few tweaks still.
@LaurenceGEE for that one I just used the cylinder tool and adjusted the verts to be at a slant. Then just duplicated the first one, flipped it, lined it up, and bam took the pieces and just duplicated them over and over . Probably could have done it a different way though.

Looking good by way.
