Hello chaps and chappettes!
For my last year of Uni I am taking part in a team project.
We will be making a level in the UDK and posting our progress on this thread.
Please comment or make suggestions.
The level will be a technical demonstration of the designed game and is designed to be what the game could look like. Emphasis will be placed on the design of the assets, environment and main character. The game mechanics have been designed but will not be made.
We are a group of 3rd year Game Art and Design students from Norwich College University of the Arts.

The builder brush was used to create the building geometry and floor.
The team wanted to create a small level (time restraint) which had a good flow for exploration. We didnt want the player to be able to see all the level at the same time. We added a corridor where the level will start from. We also created alleyways and a road to give the impression of space. These will be closed off with fences and other assets which will block the player.
Assets such as containers will be placed strategically so that the length of the level will be separated.
The environments will be a contrast of normal everyday buildings with scifi / grungy machinery.
No, that was a bit sloppy. Just needed to bring the brush down a tad. That part of the level will have pipes and wires spanning the gap. Think we will also have an animated fan in the wall with a light behind it casting shadows on the wall. Can't wait.
All the build brush geometry will be replaced by static meshes eventually.
Best of luck moving forward!
These are some concept art pieces. I will post more when I get them off the concept artist. And the first model of the first house. The house has been textured and should be on here soon. Will post more as they get made.
Glad you're looking forward to it.
